SWS MINOR B (46/60) RULES

1. Batting Round Robin

2. Number of Fielders   Ten (10), if available

3. Stealing   Not Permitted

4. Bunting   Yes, but only when player is pitching

5. Infield Fly Rule   Not applicable

6. Balks Not applicable

7. Dropped 3rd Strike Not applicable

· Coaches will pitch the 1st 3 innings; followed by kids pitch for the 3 remaining innings. Below rule applies during kids pitch.

· Only Two (2) walks will be allowed to the team batting per inning when a player is pitching. After the Third (3rd) walk, or hit by pitch, the batter will remain at the plate and the batting team’s manager or coach will take the mound and continue to pitch to the player until the player either hits the ball or is retired by strikes. Note: there is a seven (7) pitch limit. That manager/coach will continue for the remainder of that batting inning. The Manager/Coach must pitch from the rubber. The kid pitcher will be positioned to the side of the mound when the Manager/Coach is pitching.

· The Strike count will be continued for the pitching Manager or Coach.

· The throw by the pitching Manager or Coach must be a called a strike, (if in the strike zone), a swinging strike or batted out (no walks). There will be a seven (7) pitch limit.

· If a batter is struck by the pitching Manager or Coach the batter will not take First (1st) Base.

· Bunting is not permitted when a Manager or Coach is pitching.

· A pitching player, Manager, or Coach must keep within one (1) foot of the Pitching Rubber. This is a safety and Insurance issue.

· The Tenth (10th) fielder must be placed into the outfield for a maximum of Ten (10) players fielding if available. NO SHORT CENTER field is permitted.

· NO more than 6 players are permitted in the infield inclusive of the pitcher and catcher.

· The (1) Manager or (3) Coaches will coach the bases.

· No inning will start if the game has already been in progress for at least one and one-half (1 1/2) hours. If the game is tied after the bottom of the inning, the game will be over. No standings are kept in this division and there are no playoffs.

· END OF AN INNING- A maximum of Five (5) runs per inning, 3 Outs or one time batting through the order will be in effect for the entire game. An exception to this rule would be if additional run(s) are scored due to a Home Run hit over the fence.

· On a base on balls, the batted runner cannot advance past first base as a result of a pass ball, errant throw, defense complacency or indifference.

· Catcher Speed-Up rule – the Manager must remove the catcher from the bases when on offense if there are two (2) outs so the player can get his equipment on for the defensive half of the inning.

SWS MINORS (46/60) RULES

2. Number of Fielders Nine (9)

3. Stealing  Only 3rd base

4. Bunting Yes

  • Delayed      steals of any form are prohibited from play in the Minor Division. Once the ball is being returned to the      pitcher, the runner must retreat to the base last held. Straight stealing is permitted once the      ball has crossed the plate. Runners      can advance to any base on wild pitches and passed balls.
  • If      the ball is overthrown by the catcher back to the pitcher, the ball is      live and runners can advance at their own risk.
  • If      a batter is issued a Walk or HBP, he cannot take off for second base. This includes if the pitch the batter      was issued a base on balls is a passed ball or wild pitch.
  • Taunting of any kind will not be      tolerated. This includes, but is      not limited to, runners deliberately distracting the defensive player by      clapping hands or making noises when the pitcher is in the windup. The umpire will issue a warning on the      first occurrence and will eject the player after the second occurrence.
  • The      “speed-up” rule is allowed in all games for the catcher and mandatory with      2 outs.
  • Pitchers      may throw 8 warm-up pitches the 1st inning they enter the game      and 5 each successive inning.
  • It      is an un-written rule if you are leading by 10 runs at any point in the      game, you should stop stealing bases. Managers need to exercise common sense and realize the games are      meant to teach the players and not all about winning.
